A while ago the brilliant NI gem of a blog The Yellowest Diamonds held a giveaway in collaboration with Grainne Maskey, Independent Stylist, Stella & Dot. The prize was the much desired Stevie Necklace. Retailing at £75 it was definitely one of those items on a lust list that I never dreamed I'd actually own so I didn't hesitate to enter the giveaway.
The Yellowest Diamonds invited us to comment on how we would style the Stevie Necklace if we were to win it. Lately styling is all I can think about. My mind is filled with ideas. It's quite nice if I'm honest. I love nothing more than seeing the right outfit come together with the perfect accessories.
With a statement necklace such as the Stevie by Stella & Dot I'm a firm believer that less is more. Statement jewellery should be just that. Let it sing solo folks. So my entry went a little something like this....
The dress I spoke of was another giveaway win. This time it was Max C London inviting us to comment on which dress we loved (around Halloween) and how we'd style it for Halloween. I chose a black lace body con dress and declared it would be styled a la Morticia.
Obviously Halloween is past us now but luckily the gothic glam trend is raging, hitting the catwalks and magazines with a fervour. Grown up goth is IN!
This excites me no end because as I've said before here on the blog I was, what can only be described, as a goth, for many years. In fact it's only really in the last 4 - 5 years that I've branched out with my own style. I still love nothing more than a little throw back to my younger days.
I popped on my Stella & Dot Starstruck Ring for good measure and left it at that accessory wise. The outfit doesn't need much else.
Stella & Dot are a brand going from strength to strength and I'd love to see it reach more young 'uns. With their current collection showing nods to heritage, gothic glam and vintage glamour (oh Suzanne you will be mine!) they really do cover every aspect of style. And they do it so well with every piece I own feeling luxurious to wear. It's fair to say I'm feeling the Stella & Dot groove!
My extensions are those that I featured here and are from Hairtrade. I did dye them myself and I adore them. I would recommend to anyone getting a set of extensions. A great way to mix up your style and to be honest, they give me an added confidence.
So what do you think? Would you have styled the Stevie Necklace differently?
