Being a Grown Up

I align growing up with realisations, of which there are far too many to list here. One of my most recent personal ones was how to better look after my skin. We abuse our skin so terribly. I'm not too bad, I don't wear makeup everyday, or even every other day, which I think buys me a bit of time. However, I have noticed the wrinkles. And the blotchiness. And the unevening of my skin tone. And I can tell you this, I'm not ready. I'm not. I got my first grey hair a while back now and that was an event in itself. But the little ''laughter lines'' yeah.... I'm not laughing. I'll accept it and I'll even embrace it eventually, for now though, I've become acutely aware of skin care.

With that in mind I'd love to tell you about a product I've been using for over 1 month now. I am hoping I have the words for it because even now, as I type this, I can't imagine how to tell you how great it is.

I was sent the Vichy Idealia Creme de lumiere (I need to learn accents on a keyboard for foreign languages). This cream has been hailed as a ''healer of skin'' I pffft'd. I don't mind telling you that. If you remember I was having quite the little to-do with my skin a while ago. Spots, redness where before there was none, dry skin, rough skin. It wasn't the face I knew anymore. So I'll admit it was a week or two before I approached the lovely pot of healing.

Vichy Idealia is a normal - combination skin care day cream. Though I've been applying it at night and I'm not convinced it makes a difference. It works specifically to repair skin, cell to cell. The blurb tells me it will diminish prominent pores, uniform colour by reducing discolouration and wait for it smoothing out wrinkles.

Well! Did it work? It most certainly evened out my skin, beautifully I might add. I am actually sold. Completely. Now, I'm not 100% convinced my wrinkles have been reduced but I have noticed a distinct difference in the general look and feel of my face and with my pores. I'm getting noticeably less spots and my skin hasn't been blotchy in a couple of weeks. The only other thing I have to add is OMG THE SMELL!! It's utterly divine! Fruity and luxurious smelling. It's a pleasure lathering on at night. I'll be re-buying this personally when my sample runs out (or popping it on a present list).

On the theme of being a grown up I thought I'd pop this OOTD up as well as a lot of you liked the blouse on Instagram today.

The whole ensemble was purchased on Ebay apart from the gold necklace which is George at Asda. The satchel is originally from Missguided.

And just in case you wanted to see how my skin is doing?

It's certainly much improved!

You can buy Vichy Idealia in Gordons Chemists as well as other online avenues.
