Man's Essence

My husband gets barely any post. A bank statement and that pretty much is the height of it. So imagine his excitement when he received a fragrance to try. Poor lad was actually beside himself with excitement. I also got a fragrance which I'm looking forward to telling you about but for now, here's one for the lads (to a degree)

Let me give you a background to Lee. He's a simple kinda guy. I love that about him. He's unassuming and what you see is what you get. I've been seeing him every day near enough for over 6 years now and can vouch for the fact he's not a fragrance type guy. In fact in the time we've been together he's used the same bottle of Burburry fragrance a friend had got him one Christmas. It's never run out because he just doesn't use it. I know better than to get involved with Lee's grooming regime so I don't interfere. However when he got so excited over a fragrance last week it almost brought a tear to my eye.

The Essence by David Beckham

Typical male grooming product packaging, hey! If it ain't broke.... I did notice a slight turn up of Lee's nose at this point. Be warned we're not particularly celebrity endorsing in this household.

I can affirm when Lee slid the bottle out of the packaging his face gave away how impressed he was with the look. Sleek, clear and masculine the packaging was a big hit. Sturdy and expensive feeling it's a strong statement to make.

David Beckham has really stepped it up here without a doubt. This fragrance was designed by the one and only Olivier Polges, Creator of renowned fragrances of Christian Dior Homme, Christian Dior Pure Poison and the latest in the Lancome range of fragrances. Olivier has not only appealed to men with this signature scent, he has very cleverly and very subtly appealed to women as well. This fragrance is a power house fragrance in the sense it is such a full scent, it is most definitely not overwhelming though. Combining Grapefruit, Lavender Oil and Violet Leaves the initial zest of this scent is fresh beyond belief. It smells clean and bright. Bringing in strong middle notes of Cardamom Oil, Pineapple and Apple it continues with the fruity theme with just the right amount of spice. Rounding off with Base Notes of Cashmeran, Patchouli Heart and Tonka Bean all the male fragrance boxes are well and truly ticked.

It's a hit with Lee and it's a sure fire hit with me. Out of the last 5 days he's worn it 3. This pleases me no end. It sits strong and unassuming on the bedside table, fits Lee perfectly.

This fragrance is on offer in Boots Stores for just £14 for 30mls right now and I'd recommend it. More than that? Lee recommends it.

The deal clincher?

Lee applied this fragrance at 10am this morning. I can still smell it now.

Score.
