Spiderman Spiderman

Whilst I was feeling the whole nail art motivation I decided to try a design I'd started seeing a while ago and with the latest Spiderman movie release it seemed a good time to seize the day.

I loosely followed Fashion Floozy's tutorial and I'll take you through mine step by step though it is pretty easy. It really does take a steady hand and I think Nail Art Pens are the way forward here as opposed to the polishes I used.

For this design I used:
Technic Nail Art Polish in Black
Barry M Indigo
Barry M Red Wine

I started by painting my nails with Barry M's Red Wine

Then I painted my tips Indigo

And then the fun started. Ideally as I mentioned above I think this would work better with a silver pen as I found the brush polish I used wasn't great. It'd not have enough polish on sometimes and too much other times. Brushes are also harder to control when you're as new to this as I am. I think a pen would be easier to handle *note to self!*

Paint on 3 vertical stripes as follows

(see what I mean?)

Once that's done I simply painted horizontally in a curves type design through each vertical line, well, that was the idea!
I think this is maybe the most intricate design I've tried yet and I think I'll try it again with a silver nail art pen should I find one!

I left my thumb nail free of stripes and just painted some Spiderman Eyes on instead.

I had fun doing this, although it takes a lot of concentration and patience because you do need a base coat and every single coat of anything needs to dry before applying anything else. If you want them to have any longevity then remember to also apply a top coat.

Wonder what to try next!

Oh and if you know of any good base / top coats that also helps strengthen and grow nails?
I'm all ears!

What a great idea for a nail design.

I have the Technic nail brushes too, they aren't great for small detailing are they :( I think it would look nice using a silver pen as you say.

    Just followed your blog, hope you can take a look at mine too? I'm hosting a give away;
