A Sunday spent in NYC

Or rather at my Dining Table playing ''make-up''. I had fun anyhow!

NewYorkColor or NYC have been a brand I've used for years, especially their budget friendly nail colors so when I received some NYC goodies I couldn't wait to get at my face.

Packed full of bright clashing colours, not at all my usual style but this blog is all about discovery and one thing I did discover was a new favorite nail polish.

In A NY Minute High Line Green RRP £1.79

I have fallen for this unusual colour hook, line and sinker

Reminded the Hubby of The Big Lebowski :S but he really REALLY likes it which is surprising as I normally can't carry off bright colours.

Speaking of bright colours let me introduce you to a snippet of NYC's fantastic eyeshadow range out at the moment, along with before and afters (you will really have to excuse my horrendous eyebrows :S Need to get those bad boys under control)

NYC Mono Eyeshadow: 5th Avenue

and

NYC Mono Eyeshadow: Manhattan Gaze
Both RRP £1.79

For definition I used

NYC High Definition Felt-Tip Liner RRP £2.99
I have to say that I am usually a Collection 2000 felt tip liner girl but this impressed me. With a thinner and harder nib it allows more definition so I'm sure this will be my go-to liner from now on.

For my lashes I used

NYC Sky Rise Lengthening Mascara Black
I was nervous about trying this as I am such a mascara snob. No mascara does as it says as far as I'm concerned, some just do a better job of it than others BUT this did actually lengthen my lashes. The only difference I would make when using it again would be to either curl my eyelashes first or apply some curl boosting mascara as well.

''Before''

In Vogue Eyeshadow

Manhattan Gaze Eyeshadow

As I hope you can see (still learning how to picture post beauty products!) the mascara did quite a good job, I was particularly impressed with how I was able to properly coat my lower lashes which is usually such a trial but the thin wand was perfect for non clumping lashes.

You can purchase NewYorkColor products online at www.superdrug.com or alternatively any well stocked Pharmacy. All in all a great budget friendly make up range that does exactly as it says on the tin! It's really does pop a punch or two, especially when you're wandering around the house looking like this...

How did you spend your Sunday?
