Indulge me in regards to the title today - I simply couldn't help myself!
If you remember or would like a refresher I did a wee picture tutorial for the Beehive a while ago which didn't include any fuss at all: The Agoraphobic Fashionista: Tutorial: The Iconic Beehive.
This method has stood me well but this week I wanted to experiment a little further.
To achieve new heights with your Beehive all you need is:
4 hair grips
1 hair brush
1 pair of tights
I picked up a value pack of 6 pairs for just £2.00 over at ClothingatTesco.co.uk and it works out so much cheaper than all the gadgets aimed at doing exactly the same thing.
Roll your tights up from the waistband until you have a crossiant like shape (you want it chunkier in the middle for a good 'bump')
Place the tights on the tallest part of your head near the back and pin into place either side
Bad background, my bad - I hope you can see it ok on top of my silly head there!
Take the front and side parts of your hair (leaving a good chunk of hair down the back)
You *can* backcomb this but I just hate doing it so I personally don't.
Simply pin that section of hair behind the tights at the back
As messy or as tidy as you like. Then leave your hair down for this kind of look
Or you can ponytail it or wind it up in a french roll or simply pull the back section to the side
Messy I know, my hands aren't my own tonight ;)
Let me know if you give it a go!

Love it! I had a beehive related eureka moment the other day when it just wasn't getting high enough and I didn't want to backcomb. I pinned my hair rat to the top of my head! It was the most wondrous beehive I've ever seen :D
