Remember my lamentations regarding my lack of style when it came to my frames? It's an area I can't seem to take seriously and would sooner reach for contacts than consider what a different pair of frames could do for me. I vowed to make an effort this year with my eye wear and on that note in come Specsavers again. Having been my go-to glasses and contacts supplier for over 10 years now they're usually my first port of call for anything glasses related. Especially considering their range is so expansive from my usual budget friendly specs right through to designer frames they really do offer something for everyone.
When I was contacted and asked would I like to pick a new pair of frames from Specsavers' Designer Range I was actually headed for a pair of Gok Wan frames I'd seen a year or two ago in my local store. I found them just fine online but something stopped me. You know one of those feelings that just niggles at you and stops you in your tracks only to have you change direction completely? I headed to the Karen Millen section. I'm so glad I did!
In the end I opted for the Karen Millen 34 Frames and here's how they translate into real life wear
Sturdy yet light these frames surprised me when I picked them up. I had been intending to choose occasion wear frames so had allowed for them to be a little heavier than usual however I was delighted to find they would be easily worn daily as they're that comfortable.
I'm in love with a retro shape at the moment, which we all know! And the leopard print on these is just enough without being over the top. I've been wearing them for a few days now and can honestly say they'll be my go to glasses from here on in.
Teamed with a bright pussy bow blouse, eyeliner flicks, a slash of red lipstick and (one of my prized possessions) my Age of Reason Bondage Doll Scarf (much more on this to come as soon as I'm able) these Karen Millen frames were the perfect new addition to my accessory collection. And this is how I am learning to view my frames. As accessories! There's no need to let that area languish!
What do you think? Are you a Karen Millen fan? Did you know you could pick Karen Millen frames up at Specsavers? My little sister did, she has her own pair!!! And I never even knew until today! Shocking..
