The Marks and Spencer Valentines Challenge

Every so often a very epic email will land in my inbox. Last week brought forth one of those opportunities you just cannot say no to.

I was contacted about taking part in a Marks & Spencer Valentine's Challenge. Before you get all eye-rolling and judgemental, this is a challenge with a difference.

Marks & Spencer didn't want us to put together a list of gifts (which I probably would have done for the sheer craic of it) no, they simply wanted to give some of us bloggers a dress. A very pretty Valentines Dress. For us.

Of course they weren't just going to give us the dress. Where would the fun be in that! They decided to pair us off and have us pick a dress for one another.

A Girl Power Valentines Gift Exchange!

All the above sounds great in theory doesn't it? Until the realisation hits home that you now have the responsibility of picking out a dress for your Girl Valentine. We were sent the blog link of our Valentine and I will happily admit to losing hours reading a large chunk of archive of......

Oh come now! I can't TELL you who it is ;)

I can tell you that this very stylish blogger is my new style crush. Citing Zoe Deschanel as style inspiration and oozing a sense of casual femininity I couldn't wait to see what I could find for her. I knew she would like something that could be dressed down but wanted to find something suitable for dual-wear and so I went hunting on www.marksandspencer.com.

This is the dress I selected

After looking at quite a few of my M&S Valentine's pictures I deduced that she was a lover of vintage and making outfits her own. This dress is basic enough to wear during the day with the low waist bringing a sense of casual and it could indeed be worn in a more dressy setting if the opportunity presented itself. The chiffon neckline brings just a touch of quirky to the design. I like to think Zoe would approve.....

Now, I just wait (rather anxiously) to find out if my Marks & Spencer Valentine approves!

That, and wondering what on earth someone would choose for me....

The anticipation is tantamount to a Valentines Date! Maybe I need to get out more.
