Instore vs Online, George at Asda

This is a little twist on an out and about post.

As you all know I've been cooped up for quite some time now and today it got the better of me. I needed out. This was a momentous occasion as I hardly ever feel like that at all, obviously.

I was headed somewhere in particular. Asda, Coleraine in fact. And I was headed there on a mission. They had a few pieces online that I really loved but they were the type of things you really did need a look at instore. So, that's where I headed. Instore.

I am always one to herald online shopping. It's really the only way I can shop in any capacity. If I do manage to make it instore and make a purchase, take it home only to find it's unsuitable, well that's a problem right there. That means not only do I have to contend with going instore in the first place but that could mean a possible further trip in order to return it. And folks, that's my least favourite thing to have to do out in the big bad world. Returning and exchanging goods.

That all aside I thought I'd give you a peek of what's currently instore in Asda (Coleraine)

Lots of lovely bits admittedly but not one of the things I went in for were stocked. NOT ONE. Usually you can allow for say not finding 3 out of 5 pieces you go to look at but not a single one? Pushing it really.

I had gone specifically to have a look at some of George at Asda's Control Wear as it looked vintage, retro and right up my street.

Not one of the above was instore. More to the point, the next item, which I've lusted over since its debut online, the PU Sleeved Mac....

You guessed it. Not stocked instore. This is a mistake in my opinion. With the PU detailing trend raging on Asda, Coleraine have missed a beat here. Being the kind of item (coat) that really does need to be tried on, especially given the change in seasonal wear, it should be readily available for customers to put their hands to. This is why it will never be a case of Instore vs Online. Sometimes an item calls for instore inspection. In a case like this? Both instore and online miss out on consumer cash.

So... I came home empty handed... Unless you count Peach Shnapps.

  3. I was admiring that mustard jumper with the dog motif just yesterday. It's so cute. The store I popped in to was actually really well stocked, but that's rarely the case in my local branch!
