New York Skin in an Irish Climate

I was sent a range of NYC Foundations recently and saying as my pallor is now exceeding ghostlike at the moment, I thought I'd give them a whirl.

Bit of background on me and foundations. We don't get on. I pride myself on the shape of my skin. I rarely break out and I rarely get complexion problems such as patchy skin etc but you can usually be guaranteed any time I put a hint of foundation near my face I'll break out. I sometimes only need to be wearing it an hour before angry red lumpy spots start appearing. Beautiful picture I'm painting here I know. There have been a few foundations this year that I've gotten on with, all a surprise to me. A few were; Lily Lolo and NYC and even more surprisingly ones I didn't get along with included Rimmel and Chanel. Mind you, part of me is relieved the Chanel didn't agree with me as I only had a sachet sample from a magazine. That little dalliance could have ended up quite expensive!

Today I'm going to be showing you some of the NYC Foundations which are available to buy now. And remember the offer I told you about yesterday? Just in case you have forgotten or (shock horror) missed it.... All of these foundations are currently on sale in Superdrug and on www.superdrug.com for just £2.49

NYC All day long Foundation; NYC Skin Matching Foundation; NYC Natural Matte Foundation & NYC Mousse Foundation

I'm going to kick off with the one I got on with the least, though I do need to say it was a push as none of them caused a breakout. I used all of them on my face over an 8 hour period for 1 day each. All foundations are swatched and then shown rubbed into the hand.

This little mousse is lovely, I've just never got on with mousse foundations. I personally don't like the texture but remember I did say I was fussy. This foundation works well applied after a moisturiser or a primer. It gives a great peachy glow effect when on and it does stay put pretty well.

A much more creamy consistency, I couldn't wait to try out the time frame on this one. I did only keep it on 8 hours but it had stayed fully intact and I didn't feel like it had ''caked'' to my face which I find some long lasting foundations can. The ''hue'' is lovely with this foundation and I used it without a primer. This one would be great for work wear.

Contrary to it's very creamy consistency this does in fact settle matte when applied. Almost gives the illusion of powder the coverage is beautifully light, yet complete. A real winner for me.

We have a winner!!! This little foundation is my new favourite product. Billed as a concentration of technology that is aimed at matching your skins tone. It does just that. I didn't need a primer, it stayed put and I really really liked the consistency and how it looked on my skin. I've used it a few times since swatching it and can't recommend it enough. Oh! And no breakouts!

All priced at £2.49 with Superdrug can you afford to miss out when you could be meeting your match? I say go for it! Mine was a match made in heaven (oh believe me I could go on!)

Have you tried any NYC products you can't stop raving about? I'd love to hear them!

  3. Thanks for this post, I never thought to ever try NYC foundations. I'm super pale with sensitive skin too so I'm going to try out the Skin Matching Foundation when I'm done my current one.
