Sunday Product Round Up

The cruel master of needing to keep busy has hit today so I thought I'd bring you a round up of a few products I have tried out recently and, of course, my thoughts on them.

It comes with it's own muslin cloth and it's priced at £9.50 for 200mls, less than half the price of the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser. Now, there is no point in me comparing the two as I've not tried any Liz Earle to date but purely on the bargainous side of things the Marks & Spencer one wins out.

The pump gave me a little bother to start with as it's a twist and lock pump but it's not the be all and end all.

A nice thick, creamy texture, it felt lovely to apply.

The fragrance is a little old lady-ish for me, which was disappointing. I would have preferred a sweeter or fresher fragrance personally. Apart from that I've been thoroughly enjoying using this cleanser. I've been using it as part of my beauty routine for over a month now and even with my ridiculously sensitive skin this product is able to work a little magic. My skin is noticeably smoother. Noticeably.

Marks & Spencer have successfully brought out a sturdy competitor to the Liz Earle cleanse and polish here in my opinion. I know I'd sooner pay out for this one again rather than take a chance and try the more expensive treatment and with 95% consisting of natural ingredients I'd be happy to repurchase. It's a thumbs up from me. Only thing I would say is it'd be great if Marks & Spencer made their muslin cloths available to buy separately as I don't feel this one will last much longer and I still have over half a bottle of the treatment left.

Next up was an exciting one for me. Human + Kind All-in-One Body Oil.

This oil is AMAZING. I've been using it on and off (when I remember) for the last month or so and there are serious differences in the areas I've been applying it. Hailed as a ''Supercharged body moisturiser for stretch marks and scars''  and that it is my friends, that it is.

It smells like a true oil but absorbs into the skin better than any oil I've ever used meaning you don't need too much of it at all. I've been using this on various scars which I'm not comfortable with showing here but I can honestly say it's making a difference. Now that? You can't put a price on but just for quelling your curiosity you can buy Human + Kind All in One Body Oil for 14.05 Euro which works out at about £12. I would highly recommend this to any fellow dieters, pregnant lovelies or anyone bearing scars of any kind. It doesn't make them disappear completely, it's not black magic or anything but it does make a great difference and it's improved my attitude towards my stretch marks and scars. Maybe it's looking at them whilst applying the oil I've grown to accept a little more. Who knows. Another win anyhow.

Now, as always, there were going to be let-downs....

When purchasing bits and pieces for the Giveaway a while ago I had to, I mean really had to pick up Calvin Klein's Tutu Polish for myself as well. It just looked so black and glittery and it was CK, needless to say I didn't wait too long before giving it a whirl.

I was underwhelmed. To say the least. It didn't wear well. Even with a topcoat it started chipping at the tips the very next day. And it wasn't anywhere near as glittery as it had promised.

I wouldn't bother repurchasing and I'm not even all that sure I'll ever pop this on again.

Another nail polish let down was the Mavala PitchPin I'd excitedly declared upon seeing that it was to be the colour for Autumn. Well, no, no it's not. Not by a long shot. And the polish itself? Watery, gloopy and extremely annoying. Not just a let down, this polish, which I only applied last night, is still on my nails making me annoyed.

Didn't it look so Autumnal? Plus I'd heard great things about Mavala but such a let down.

AFTER 4 COATS

Even though I made sure and let each coat dry it still set streaky and inconsistent. 4 coats. Seriously. So in reality that little mini bottle is not going to last very long at all. Well... it will, for I'll not be using it again :S
Huge let down.

And there's our wee Sunday Round-Up. Hope you enjoyed it and as always I can't wait to hear your thoughts on these products so please do get in touch.

  1. That's a shame about the polishes. I'm not really feeling the Mavala packaging either. Xo

  2. I'd be pretty interested to try out the M&S cleanser to see how it compares to Liz Earle, might just have to do that!

Love the CK polish, it's gorgeous :) I have noticed a lot of them appearing in TK Maxx recently, will have to pick up one or two to try xx

  3. FOUR coats?! Such a shame they were disappointments. Personally I'd always assumed Mavala were a cheap brand from the 80s, slightly odd that they've gotten a lot more favour recently. Ah well!

  4. Ooo the human kind oil sounds lovely, I'll need to find somebody to slap it onto the scar on my back...!

Those polishes sounds awful, they'll go on my list of products to avoid! xx

  5. I can't suffer Mavala at all, I think they need a major relaunch & overhaul, they've had those dinky bottles & crap formula since my Mam was young. The oil sounds amazing, wonder would it be any good for a C-section scar?x
