Ringing in the Changes

I wonder how many of you will notice the changes around these parts.

I had the best day today, the best I've had in a very long time. It was terribly normal, fun and it was completely spontaneous.

At 9.30am I decided to ring hairdressing salons in the town I live in to see if there was any chance of getting an appointment today. The first hairdresser I rang had a slot at 12.15pm. What are the chances of that happening... on a Saturday no less.

In the 2 hours and 45 minutes that followed making the appointment I didn't once think of pulling out. Not once. Didn't even enter my head. That, is a complete first.

Gratuitous Before Shot

Before I forget! The jumper?

Remember I wanted the Topshop one but out of my current budget? I found this similar jumper new on Ebay from this seller for around a tenner. Bargain. I do wish I could find a longer one and this is only an 8 - 14 sizing so it's snug. Not too snug but not oversized and comfy.

Away I went!
The only thing that put me on edge was the chatty taxi driver. I don't do well with men out on my own. At all. And he was very chatty. Lovely! But well, chatty.

Anyway (chatty man aside) I arrived at Estilo Unisex Salon in Ballymoney.

I got my hair did :D

Couldn't resist ;)

Obligatory After Shot

Lighting wasn't very good, apologies I was ummm.... in Ground Espresso possibly having a ridiculously indulgent belgian waffle, chocolate sauce and ice cream combo (OMG) and of course some Suki Tea, whose Belfast Blend of tea is fast becoming my favourite ever tea.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

The great thing about Ground in Ballymoney is they have a play area for kids which has been essential in me loosening the ties on Riley and letting him be a bit more independent. The staff indulge him every time and are always polite. Always. I've not had one bad customer service experience yet and I actually feel comfortable going there. It's a delight for Lee, whom I think has fallen in love with their coffee and bacon bagels...

So yes! Good day all round! We even found a second hand Drum Kit in a charity shop for Riley (I say Riley but Lee was playing it a fair bit more than the child....) Either which way, more of these days please? I really, very much, enjoyed myself. I feel tired but accomplished.

Plus! New Hair!

Hope you're liking the changes and I hope you're having a great weekend whatever you're doing.

  5. Cool! I'm glad you did so well. Isn't it weird that you just don't know how you're going to be from day to day? I always say each day is a new start and will be better than the day before :)
