Best British Bloggers, the lovely lot that they are, are running a competition over on
BeautyJunkieLondon's Blog.
The prize? £250's worth of GHD products including a styler of the winners choice, a GHD Air professional hairdryer and a style and protect set. All for just one winner and I bet there are loads of entries and to be honest my entry is more a pathetic plea!
These are the only hair appliances I have to my name. Beware, it is a truly pathetic sight...
I own 1 set of Babyliss Straighteners. This current model racks in 8 years service with me now. Deserves a standing ovation really but they've been on their last legs for ages poor things!
My lovely cousin recently sent me over the Vidal Sassoon curling tong. I wish I had something nice to say about it. My Mum always told me... if you haven't anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I'm guessing she meant it in regards to people but I'm applying it here.
The wee Boots Hairdryer? Bless it, it's on it's 6th year in my possession. It cuts out sometimes. It eats my hair other times but it's all I've got *sniff*.
Anyway I had a fantabulous theory on the Ultimate Festival Hair which included big bouncy locks filled with lots of big curls and little curls. You must bear in mind my tools here...
Before:
I started by sectioning off a back piece of my hair and backcombing it just a little for volume
I then set about trying to create those lovely curls I talked about. Drank a cup of tea whilst the curling irons heated up...
And that's as far as I got with the curling tongs. Simply were not curling my hair.
So I then plugged in the straightners and waited another 5 minutes and did the best job I could. When I'd had enough (ideally when you've a head full of different curls) I pulled my fingers through my hair and chose my Iron and Wine Floral Crown from Crown and Glory as we know it is ALL about the floral headwear at festivals this year! And so it should be! I do love a crown ;)
It's o...k.... wasn't rocking my boat as I couldn't get the curls I had envisioned however I went along my not so merry way and continued with the style I had in mind. I lifted a section of hair from each side and literally just tucked them around the crown at the back.
And I'd taken this boat as far as I could m'dears!
My Ultimate Holiday Hair for lounging by the pool, casual cocktails and festival frolics.
It's a great low maintanance hairstyle alright though to be perfectly honest? I'd jump at the chance to own some solid appliances to aide my skills in this area!
Cute though!
I am beseeching the panel to see I worked as well as I could with what I had to hand and I would love it if that lovely, kind, glorious, gorgeous panel would help a girl out......

I think it look great! I have naturally curly hair but when I go out I like to curl it properly so it looks a bit more deliberate (rather than looking like I've just got out of bed!) and if I wear extensions I like to curl them... I use a waving wand. It's like a curling wand but more of a square shape so you get bigger curls rather than tighter princess curls.
ReplyDeleteIt's this one: http://www.tesco.com/direct/babyliss-waving-professional-wand/208-3984.prd?sc_cmp=pcp_GSF_Hair+Care_208-3984 but I managed to get it in a sale at ASDA for £13! I wouldn't be without it!
Hope that helps, honestly it's so easy to use, I can even do the back of my hair without looking in a mirror. It's better for your hair than tongs too because you hold the hair yourself with a heatproof glove rather than gripping it in the tongs.
Love your blog by the way, it's one of my faves! xx
Thanks so much Fay! Sounds just the ticket really, will be looking into that! You're a star <3
